The concept: place Tycho Brahe in a recording studio and have the band perform a selection of songs live, just as they would at a gig, so the live energy can be captured in a controlled environment for posterity. The reality: the same lack of control applies, and before we know it we're dealing with poor sound monitoring, equipment breakdowns, microphone spill and general confusion. The truth: You get what you paid for... We did. Did you? The five songs on the EP represent a couple of band favourites, a cover for a good friend, and some requests from the eternally patient long term die hard fans of Tycho. To you, we shout "Thankyou!" This is for you. Recorded live at Tall Poppy Productions, Sumner, Queensland, Australia during the extraordinarily late hours of August 25th 2010. Engineered by Jack, mixed by Ken Evans at Tycho Central. |

| Liner Notes | Excerpt: Found a Polaroid from 1985... This recording is an homage to those days. A novelty. An oddity. A pastiche. A lot of fun to create. A song celebrating the year 1985, remixed in the style of 1985's greatest synthpop hit maker, Giorgio Moroder. A glimpse of what Tycho may have sounded like if it had existed at that time. ... Dedicated to Max the Studio Cat, a member of our Tycho family - sadly missed, never forgotten. |

| Notes | The cover art is as notable a departure from TB's usual style as the remixes themselves. The zebra print was inspired by a shirt Ken wore in 1985, complete with thin leather tie. The release is a celebration of 1985, in Arthur Barrow's words "So authentic it hurts!" |

Originally planned as two EP/MCDs, Tasty became one single 'budget album' style EP after various problems required remastering and other expensive changes. Along the line, tainted/who was stripped of its Dr Who samples, after the BBC declined permission for their use. The title of the track had to be changed to remove the copyrighted "who" and thus became Tainted Love vs The Doctor. The final cut gave tychfans a fantastic collection of new tracks, covers and remixes. Modified or not, tainted finally made it to CD and Delos could grace the home stereos of tychfans as well as live PAs. The Real Life / Tycho remix tradeoff produced a fabulous version of White Room; showing what great work can do with a great original track. All tracks deserve their own writeup, but in reality the record speaks for itself - get your copy and find out why. ...and yes, that is Max the Studio Cat in the artwork :) |

100 copies of this four track tape were made. They were used as promos and sold at gigs, often as a package with the classic black t-shirt with original white logo. One of these tapes found its way into the hands of future TB drummer Stephen Birt. The cover features the "International Bright Young Thing" photo; and also has a "secret panel" which lets you refold it, so that the black and red TB logo can be displayed as the front cover. The tape was labelled with Upbeat Side and Downbeat Side... Upbeat side - Dreams of Dying, Military Option. Downbeat side - Sentence, White Room. "Military Option" was originally written by Ken in 1987 when he was part of a House duo in Adelaide. "Dreams of Dying" had a working title of "Fear of Flying" during its composition. A 7 minute instrumental entitled "Cassiopeia" was also recorded during these sessions, but not included on the cassette. This track is way cool. |

| Notes: | Only 50 copies of "Tycho Brahe - the Promotional Cassette" were produced. They were used as promos and occasionally given away to fans at gigs. TB retain two tapes for posterity. One tape remains in the hands of David Beevers, resident sound engineer with the Human League. By this stage TB had been performing as the duo of Ken Evans and Georgina Emery for about six months. Previously TB was Ken Evans, with invited guest vocalists and occasional lyrical input from Georgina Emery. TB recorded all of the songs in their repertoire as a personal "snapshot" of what they sounded like at the time. The songs recorded were: Armistice, Seventeen, Leap, White Room, Marianne, Sanctify, Sentence, Atmosphere, Free, Total Kaos. Atmosphere is a cover of a Joy Division song, and this recording of Total Kaos was radically different to that released in 1994. |
